Just for fun, I thought I’d look over some of the items I bought this summer and review what I think of them. I always like to read about what people are shopping for online and I do enough of it myself so I figured I could share here in case someone is interested in some of the same things as me.

Side note, I didn’t realize how many chairs I bought recently! I guess I just love sitting down.

Do I have a shopping problem? Maybe!

Vintage leather chair & ottoman from Neven + Neven Moderne

Ever since we moved in, I knew that I wanted to get a perfectly worn, vintage, caramel-colored leather armchair for our living room. They’re kind of hard to find and can get very expensive. So for my birthday this year, I told John that I wanted to take a day trip to Hudson, which has the largest number of antique stores per capita of anywhere in the United States. The danger of going there is that I always wind up getting distracted and buying a bunch of stuff I don’t need instead of what I was there for in the first place. But this trip, I was SUPER STRICT about only looking at chairs and after seeing almost every store, we finally came across this one. It’s German, from the 60s, and super super comfy. Mission accomplished!

Vintage James Johnston Black Ceramic Vase From Midnight Home

This is probably my favorite vase I’ve ever bought. It’s so cool and sculptural and I’ve never seen anything like it. Of course, I got it from Midnight Home, literally the best place to buy unique, one-of-a-kind vintage and antique pieces. Make sure to follow them on Instagram to see when they drop new pieces because they go really quick. Midnight Home is another awesome Black-owned business that everyone should support!

Hans Wegner Peacock Chair, Vintage

I love a vintage chair and this one was an awesome find from an estate sale. I’m not sure if it’s a replica or not, but either way it’s in excellent condition.  These go for insanely high prices on 1stDibs so I was pumped to get one for much much less than if I bought it from there. Also pictured is a cute little gold lamp from the 80s that I got at a different estate sale and a gorgeous vintage jar from Midnight Home of course!

Various Products from Grove Collaborative

In my never-ending quest to be more eco-friendly, I started ordering a lot of my cleaning supplies from Grove Collaborative. Each month I get a box from them which saves me a lot of time on things that I forget to buy like dish soap and toilet paper. They carry a lot of the brands that I like such as Caldrea, method, and Murphy’s Naturals. This month’s haul included their tree-free bamboo toilet paper, tissues, and napkins, my favorite Sea Salt Neroli dish soap from Caldrea, and even some dry shampoo for my pup. If you’re interested in trying them out, head here for a free gift set with my referral link: https://www.grove.co/referrer/168258798/

D2 Dining Chair - $375 at Raini Home

I know this says it’s a dining chair but I am actually just going to be using it as more of a decorative object than a seating spot. I recently saw this in person at the Raini Home store in Brooklyn and fell in love. I am always into supporting Black and women owned businesses so I am very excited to have found this company!

6pk Solar Pathway Lumen Lights Black - $40 at Target

I actually bought a set of these about a month ago but loved them so much I wound up getting 5 more boxes. I have them placed around the landscaping outside the house and they provide just enough light to see where you’re going but not block out the stars. Plus I love that they’re solar powered so I don’t need to worry about wires or batteries. They have a great sleek, minimal look that goes well with the house.

Pottery from Stone Window Gallery

Brinton Baker is the master potter who makes all of the pieces at Stone Window Gallery, located in Accord. Both the bowl and the little footed vase/jar on top of the books in this picture are from his spot. Brinton trained in Japan and his pottery has a beautiful “wabi sabi” style. He also does custom work. I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area!

Classic Leather Dog Collar, Leash, and Poop Bag Holder in Cognac From Muso & Co

Tina’s lewk was due for a refresh and I thought we’d try a timeless leather style for fall. The packaging they came in was SO CUTE and they even included a little baggie of treats, a roll of their corn-based poop bags, and a cute little heart pin. The leather feels really high quality and wasn’t too stiff, so Tina was comfy right away. My only complaint is that the leash feels a bit shorter than the advertised 6 feet. I’m seriously considering buying one of their matching scarf sets for me and Tina as well because how chic would that be?

Leather Coasters in Natural and Black - $24 from Ravenwood

Ravenwood is an amazing farm store/barn space/wildflower field/coffee shop in Kerhonkson and I highly recommend taking a trip to go see it in person. It’s absolutely gorgeous and the food is incredible. They also have super cool home goods like these leather coasters that are handmade by Kingston-based leather worker Jay Teske. I always love to support local makers so I tend to walk out with something everytime I stop in.

Alex Mill Ambrose Pant - $120 from Concrete + Water

Concrete + Water is a store I used to frequent when I lived in Williamsburg that sells both mens and womens clothing, plus cute home goods. I was happily surprised last month when I found out that they actually moved their store to Sullivan County! Last time I was in Livingston Manor I popped in and wound up buying these pants which are now my work from home uniform. They are so comfy but still look pulled together if you need to run out of the house, so I basically wear them every day. They do run a bit small, so I recommend going one size up.
